History & background

It is a unique ski event targeted at ski instructors that evaluates comprehensive technical skills and performance ability, distinct from typical speed skiing competitions.

It is organized by Korea's KSIA (Korea Ski Instructors Association) and Japan's SAJ (Ski Association of Japan), both official members of global ‘INTERSKI’, with the aim of advancing instructors' skills and fostering ski exchange.

The event was held until the 11th competition in 2006 and has not been held since.

Targeted at top-level ski instructors active in Asia and around the world, the 2026 event is scheduled for February at Yongpyong Resort in PyeongChang, Korea, the venue of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
It is expected to feature the largest number of participating countries and the highest number of ski instructors in the event's history.
